INCREASE IN APPOINTMENT REQUESTS & ONGOING STAFF SHORTAGES

Our community is full of illness right now. Emergency Departments and Urgent Cares across the country are overrun with sick patients waiting hours to be seen. Medical offices are completely overwhelmed with patients who need appointments, and staff shortages continue in the healthcare field. Elmwood Pediatrics is also feeling this burden of illness and staff shortages.

Please know that we are doing our best to help our patients, but it may take longer than usual for your child to be seen in our office or for triages to be answered. Please utilize your patient portal as much as possible, as this will cut down on your wait time on the phone. Also, please utilize our website to see how you can best help your child until they can be seen in the office – use the symptom checker or other resources on our website.

In order for our employees to get a lunch break, we will be turning phones off from 12:30-1pm. There is an answering service available for emergencies, but please use the portal as your first line of communication or call when the phones are on. We will also lock the Bushnell’s Basin office from 12-12:50pm because there is no staff at the front desk at this time (so please use the portal to send us forms, or come by when the office is open). You will soon be able to schedule physicals online, and we hope to expand that to other visit types in the future.

We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate through this difficult time. Thank you!
